Lifetime Achievement Award
John Millward has been instrumental in the industry for over 30 years and has tirelessly work to support the PML and later the POM-VPS/NAF-VPS retailers through both legislation and inspection. Instrumental in the overhaul of the legislation to form the Veterinary Medicines Regulations in 2005; John has been a prominent and influential presence for the whole animal health industry.
National SQP
of the Year
Amelia Newby is a worthy winner of the top award, and she has also collected two other awards today. She is proud of her strong work ethic and says her open demeanour has been noticed by the farmers, and now they come to her for advice, or a friendly chat. She can now add National SQP of the Year to her impressive CV.
Companion SQP
of the Year
Freya Small has hit the ground running since qualifying in May 2023. She says that she’s in an advantageous position to help promote health and wellbeing and adds that knowledge is very important as clients can make poor decisions based off a lack of information.
Equine SQP
of the Year
Michelle Billington says her role is influential in promoting health and wellbeing for equines. She set-up the faecal worm egg count laboratory at TFM Country Store from scratch and is passionate about the correct use of anthelmintics.

Gemma Parke is passionate about ensuring that customers are using the right active, at the right time, administered in the correct manner, and has really taken up the challenge of educating clients and changing their mindset about the need for the responsible use of medicines.

TFM Country Store invests heavily in staff training to enable the business to meet as many customer requirements as possible. The retailer is committed to animal health and welfare, with 10 SQPs amongst its team of 24.

Allan Bain says the level of customer service his staff provides raises Harbro stores above the competition; the business goes the extra mile to make sure that the product is the best available for customer needs.

Feclab, which is focused on supporting customers and the industry in the fight against resistance, offers a targeted service that promotes the responsible use of medicines through testing before treating.
Outstanding Customer Service Award
Chloe Lewis promotes best practices on a daily basis; she provides free handouts on worm management plans and helpful tips on improving management to help reduce the risk of parasitic infection.
Store Manager of the Year
Stella Kendall leads from the front, ensuring that all staff are wel trained and have great knowledge to be able to talk to customers, and to be able to read their body language.
Veterinary Practice SQP of the Year
Amelia Newby says that changing farmer behaviour can be incredibly challenging; she first needs the farmer to believe and understand that there is a problem.
